Istanbul, this magical meeting place of East and West, adapts the definition of a great city, not only with her population and the area she covers but also with the variety of cultures and ways of living. It is superbly situated either side of the blue ribbon of the Bosphorus Strait separating Europe from Asia. With its oriental-fantasy skyline of domes and minarets, and its narrow cobbled streets lined with quaint old wooden houses, lies on a tapering peninsula pointing gravely across the straits to Asia.

The city offers many attraction places to visit, like The Blue Mosque – a world-renowned monument famed for its dazzling domes, the Hagia Sofia – a mosque whose incredible confection of domes, towers and golden mosaics has inspired architecture around the world, Ottoman palaces, Bosphorus bridge, citadels and cruising on a boat to view the European and Asian shorelines at the same time.

Çanakkale is a city in northwestern Turkey in the Marmara region, on the Dardanelles Strait. It’s a gateway to the Gallipoli WWI battlefields, north of the narrow strait. On the grounds of the 15th-century Çimenlik Castle, Çanakkale Naval Museum Command contains historical artillery.
