    Martial Arts is highly beneficial not only in conditioning the body, mind, and soul, but it is also very useful in self-defense. Others engage in training because of their passion for the culture and history behind it. Indeed, martial arts is one of the oldest forms of fighting and it has survived until today. There
    are many different types of martial arts, including Taekwondo, Karate, Jiu Jitsu, Tai Chi, Taekkyeon, Kalaripayattu, Muay Thai and more. Travel to destinations where martial arts originated and are still practiced for a number of reasons: as self-defense, military and law enforcement applications, mental and spiritual development; as well as entertainment and the preservation of a nation’s intangible cultural heritage.

    Taekkyeon is a representative traditional martial art of Korea. It is listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Taekkyeon is characterized by fluid, dynamic foot and knee movements called ‘Stepping-on-Triangles.’ The goal of taekkyeon is to knock over the opponent with these movements. Kyulyun taekkyeon was originally a group competition, in which a group of people from different villages held a team match in honor of their villages. It is a part of traditional Korean martial arts and folk culture that was prevalent in Seoul.

    Official residence of the president is called “The Blue House”.The symbol of the Blue House, which is at the center of Korean politics, is the blue tiles. The first thing that catches your eye when you arrive at the Blue House is also the blue tiles of the main building. The blue tiles and the smooth roof are in beautiful harmony with Mt. Bugaksan behind it.
    Visit Gyeongbok Palace
    Gyeonbokgung Palace is a palace erected during the reign of king Taejo, founder of the Joseon Dynasty(1392-1910) which was the final kingdom in Korea, but it was destroyed in the Japanese invasion of 1592. It was reconstructed in 1868. It has 4 gates including the southern main gate, Gwanghwamum.
    Visit National Folk Museum
    The National Folk Museum is located on the compound of Gyeongbok palace. It shows you the traditional life of both the ordinary people and aristocracy. It has exhibits from all parts of Korea. There ae displays of traditional farming methods, hunting, weaving, cooking and other house keeping chores.

    Day 3

    Experience Korean Martial Art – Taekkyeon
    After breakfast at hotel, procced to Insadong to learn basics of Taekkyeon, a traditional Korean martial art. Taekkyeon is a representative traditional martial art of Korea. It is listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and designated as a Major Intangible Cultural Heritage of Korea No. 76.     Optional Tour: Full day Nami Island/ Garden of morning calm tour.
    Start your day with morning pickup from your Seoul hotel. Relax in the climate-controlled coach during the 1-hour drive to Nami Island. Learn about Nami Island from your guide en route, then board the ferry at the Gapyeong pier for the short ride to the island. Nami Island is known for its natural beauty and as the one of the key sites in filming the popular Korean drama Winter Sonata. Once you have spent time on Nami Island, depart by ferry and visit the Garden of Morning Calm, the oldest private garden in the nation. Stroll through the extensive garden along paved paths that connect 20 different themed gardens with about 5,000 types of plants. Once you taken in the gardens, head back to Seoul and drop off at hotel drop-off.

    International hotel check in time is between 2pm and 3pm and check out time is between 11am and 12pm. (Exceptions apply). Early check in and or late check-out is subject to availability of rooms and may be chargeable.

    It is the responsibility of the passengers to ensure they hold valid passport, visa, travel and medical insurance, vaccination etc., as applicable for each destination.

    City/tourist tax as applicable, must be paid directly at the hotel.
